Dancy's Teaching @ Penn State, University Park (and previously @ Bucknell University)

In some ways, the set of courses I teach at Penn State as an Associate Professor will be more varied (a combination of CS and IE, though less) than my time at my previous institution. At Penn State \, I teach courses related to AI, AI & Society, Engineering Analytics, and Computational Cognitive Science. The courses I teach tend to emphasize _the human_ in the computing development process.

In Spring of 2022, I taught a course at Bucknell that aligns directly with the Griot Spring Series centered on Race (Blackness) and Technology as an Adjunct.

During my time as an Assistant Professor (and for a short time an Associate Professor), I tought introduction to AI & Cognitive Science as an elective. My normal courses tend to be Software Engineering (205), Introduction to CS II (204), and Introduction to CS I (203).

In addition to in-course learning, I like to emphasize learning outside of the classroom. Thus, I typically have several (undergraduate & graduate) students in my research lab, applying the concepts they've learned during any given semester, and I may have a few students working on an independent study during a semester.
If you want to see my (evolving) thoughts on perhaps what should go into an undergraduate computational cognitive science major, see Building a computational cognitive science degree
